P4 HT doesn't work

[Debian]

I have a P4 1.6 GHz with HT. It is enabled in the Bios and i'm using the
linux-image-2.6.12-SMP kernel. wheter x86info not /proc/cpuinfo are
knowing something about 2 virtual CPU's.
What is going wrong?
