The file you downloaded is corrupt. > The mirror I'm using is http://debian.osuosl.org but I've tried others. apt-get clean; remove osuosl.org from sources.list, replace with http://ftp.fi.debian.org (which I know to be in a sane state). apt-get update; aptitude update; aptitude install linux-source-2.6.12.
