KDE's site lists Ubuntu locations. They did not work out in apt-get update.
Because Sid updates broke KMail, I succumbed and build KDE3.4.1 from source. Maybe I should try the Alioth site but this is for the specific version. KDE's Konstruct program is neat and work though one must wait for the compile to finish. Balks at the Berkley DB modules but one can make -iB and live without them. If you make KDE3.4.1 this way, remember to: 1. Export QT3 (if you are using this here) and KDE paths to your local kde3.4.1 directory. 2. Place the locat kde3.4.1/bin at the head of your path. You may need to do this as well in /etc/init.d/kdm and some other places. 3. Place the local kde3.4.1/lib at the head of your /etc/ld.so.conf file and run ldconfig. It may not work unless you do this. This is NOT cited in the documentation. Then once you see it, go the style applet and go back to what you were used to.
