Dear friends: After much consideration, I've decided to go with Sarge and add the apt-get.org and backports.org sources to /etc/apt/sources.list
This seems to me the wisest course of action. I will have the benefit of Debian's reputation for perfection and reliability plus updates of my favorite applications as needed through apt-get.org and backports.org. I assume that I will be able to do this more or less seemlessly since these updated packages will be specifically custom made for Sarge and only Sarge. My only problem is downloading the CD image. I've tried for the past four hours with Bittorrent. The download has finally ended with "Done" but I can't find it anywhere on my system. I did a search in Windows on ".iso". This brought up my existing iso images but nothing for Debian. So, I am willing to download the CD image by FTP. But I have tried several times to find the iso image and have failed. I tried ftp.debian.org and cdimages.debian.org and I just can't find the iso image. My SmartFTP client has resume and a progress bar for these things. Once I get the address I should have no problem. Would really appreciate your help. And please be precise. Thank you so much. Benjamin -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
