I have the same SCSI card here, and no such problems. I can only think that you have parts of the SCSI sub system compiled as modules instead of compiled into the kernel: I take it you're trying to boot off a SCSI disc? Just check that everything you need for your SCSI card is hard compiled into the kernel rather than being modular and you shouldn't have any further problems.
