As a newbie I could never get it to work under redhat as there were always too many errors of many different types. It's never hiccuped on me in the last 2 to 3 months that I've been using it. I take my hat off to the people who package the tarball. The laptop's about 4 years old and the modem runs well. Maybe it will fail one day, but I can wait till later to replace it, the convience of having it and not having to use the one pcmcia slot for a modem is helpfull. MIND you, I'm going to try installing Debian on another desktop with a Conexant modem and hold very little hope for that one...
