while i am not certain what your end goal is, rpc.walld is a cool program, it won't do a popup(as far as i know) but it can broadcast a message out to connected servers on a network. i didn't even know it existed until i saw it in action on one of my sun boxes, a NFS server broadcasted to the clients that it was shutting down. pretty neat (to me). i am not sure how(or if) to send a message using it .. nate -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
