I am trying to set up NIS on my Debian Woody SPARC systems. Following nis.debian.howto using shadow passwords I end up with this problem. I cannot login on any virtual console on a NIS client host.
If I login as root on the NIS client host, and try su - joe (assuming joe is in the NIS master host users) I get this behaviour: su - joe su: Authentication service cannt retrieve authentication info. (Ignored) but I het the user Joe account, with the right UID/GID, the right username translation from UID, the right group name translation from GID... I wonder what is wrong? How do I "debug" this to track down my error? Cheers, /ChJ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
