Yea, it just means "currency". I've seen it used as a generic formatting character, like "¤9,990.00" to specify, put the currency symbol, followed by a series of optional digits separated by the locale specific separator (i.e. replace ',' with what's appropriate), and then at least one digit before the decimal, decimal point as locale specific character, followed by two digits. -- Eric G.
