Generally, vcdimager will reject the file if it's formatted incorrectly. That should be the only check that really matters. > Also when to use the VCD type and when the SVCD? VCD is a lower resolution format that works well for TV captures. SVCD is a higher resolution VBR format that is better for ripping DVDs and high-res video.
