as others have previously stated...  you have to install the nfs-server
package before you can get "pass go" ...

and also check that you kernel supports nfs
        cat /proc/filesystems
        -- check that nfs is listed...

        you could try to install nfs support as modules
        but  i think it belongs in the kernel

and asuming that the nfs-server is properly installed and exported
from knuth,  am assuming oyu have /mnt/knuth defined in /etc/fstab
with nfs fstype
