X will choose the best mode it can use, and I suspect it is running in
its lowest common denominator because your XF86Config has no HorizSync,
VertRefresh, or Modelines.
You might want to check your monitor's specs first, but there's a fair
chance you can just copy these 5 lines from mine and put them in the
Monitor section: (they'll get broken by line wrapping for email)
