Recently I asked about how to resolve the following situation. We have 2 international offices that need permanent interconnectivity. Both offices have a DSL connection. So, 2 separate LANs worlds apart should for all purposes appear as one, all traffic should be encrypted, secure and constant. Encryption should be maintained as in a VPN encrypted tunnel. There may be additional encryption at the program level, of course. The primary purpose of this WAN is to provide connection to databases.
The solution proffered by one user was CIPE. I'm trying to make my way through the documents right now, but I would like to be certain that this will provide exactly what we need. Has anyone used it for such a situation? If so, what comments do you have? What other Linux-based solutions are there?
