Try the patch for vmware at: ftp://platan.vc.cvut.cz/pub/vmware/vmware-ws-1455-update12.tar.gz I patched prior to apt-get upgrading a few weeks ago, and it works works fine. I understand that it fixes some, if not all, the problems with VMWare and Debian sid right now. I'm also using kernel 2.4.17, but not SMP, and VMWare 3.0. -- Kevin C.
