Well, you have to make sure /etc/fstab has "ext3" in the column :) Today I converted two more machines to the ext3 fold; this time I didn't bother unmounting the filesystems or anything fancy, I just did the tune2fs bit, editted fstab and rebooted. Voila, ext3 up and running on all 4 linux boxes now :) (yes, I have too much crap at home but then again, I work there).
