ping "mymachine" in Linux tries to do a dns name lookup of "mymachine" ping "mymachine" in Win tries to do a SMB name lookup <<<!!!! ping "mymachine." in Win tries to do a dsn name lookup if you don' use a domainname maybe you're simply facing this Windows "feature"... -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
