I don't understand this. Are you saying that you when run kdm so that it shows a login window it runs gmc? Impossible So I suspect gmc is run inside kde when you login with kdm. correct? Then I would think it gets started through kde's session management. I wouldn't know how you can remove it from the session, I have no idea about kde. Why do you need gmc anyway?
