Stay away from Linksys Proconnect switches. They are
crap. I have three computers hooked up to a four port
switch. Once everything is running it works just
fine, but booting from a total shutdown is a pain:
the kvm won't recognize the keyboard unless you power
up the switch at exactly the right moment during the
boot sequence of the first pc. This is not easy to
do. The only work around I have found to this mid-way
shootin' gallery approach to startup is to let the
first pc boot, then unplug and replug the keyboard at
the back of the switch. Unfortunately this cause
painfully slow repeat rates.

I thought is might be a faulty switch, so I exchanged
it. On top of it all, linksys support sucks, when
they can't figure it out, they just ignore you. I've
tried three times to get some help from them and each
time they just forget about me.

Your life will probably be easier if you have all
mini-DIN mouse and kbd connectors rather than the
older AT style connectors.
