Yes, the kernel tainted message is normal. Yes, XFree86 comes with a free driver for nvidia card (not GPL, X11 license I believe), just called "nv". It works fine, as long as you don't want 3D acceleration :). Of course, if you didn't want 3D, why did you buy an Nvidia card? Cheers, Caleb
