the kernel is not able to get a reliable report from your BIOS as to how much ram the system has so it plays it safe and sticks to 64MB. you can override this in lilo.conf: append="mem=XXXM" where XXX = amount of ram you have. or you could try tweaking bios settings. i have found that certain bios settings impose this problem, also some bios upgrades(only happened to me once) do it too. i don't know exactly what bios settings, but several identical systems i have some detect everything, some don't. i setup my bios in a special way and it is usually always able to see all memory(i cant remember a time with the exception of the one incident). whereas my co workers don't do as good of a job and sometimes their systems only detect 64MB. hth nate
