I found the Gnome 2 backport to Woody a bit underpopulated, in general. And a few things just plain didn't work . . .

Are we talking about gnome2 or the gnome2.2 backport? If gnome2.2, I'd like to know what doesn't work for you or what is missing-- maybe I can fix it. Everything is working great for me.

I have heard of someone else having a problem with gnome2-user-guide. This worked for them:

apt-get remove --purge gnome-users-guide gnome2-user-guide
apt-get install gnome2-user-guide

Hey James.

It's been a while since I even used the partition I have that was upgraded to Kov's backport of Gnome (http://people.debian.org/~kov/), so I don't remember if it's 2.0, 2.1 or 2.2. Gnome 2.2.1 in unstable certainly seems much more complete than my memories of the preceeding.

Gaute is the one that will probably benefit from your advice.

I'll just go and wipe the spittle from my foot ;-)

Thanks.
