Are they actually binary builds?
I'm about 95% sure they're binary... as I said, though, I've never used them since I usually download a tarball and unpack it when I want to upgrade (mozilla installations from binary tarball are relatively unobtrusive and can easily be installed into a user's home dir). There is, of course, one way to find out for sure if they're binary ;-)
