I just upgrade from XFree-3.3.6 to XFree-4.1.0 on my potato system and I seem to have lost screen resolutions. I used to run at 1280x1024 (apparantly interlaced according to my 3.3.6 config file), but I can't get XFree4 to go any higher than 1024x768 no matter what I have tried. I have lowered the bpp (usually 16) down to 8 and added the few resolutions inbetween 1280x1024 and 1024x768, but none of those are used either. Windows won't do the resolution I am trying with the drivers I have installed, but 3.3.6 has had no problems doing it for a few years now. Is there a way to specify interlace mode in the XF86Config-4 file since modelines are gone? Anyway to force a particular resolution?

Also, when I start X, it takes a long time to start. I have to wait a couple of minutes before I get anything on the screen. Does anyone know what would cause this? TIA

Rob
