To run 2.4.x kernels on potato, you'll need some newer kernel-related packages, including things like iptables, and most importantly modutils. Have a look at http://www.fs.tum.de/~bunk/kernel-24.html to see how to get the reuiqred packages that Adrian Bunk has kindly packaged. -rob
