I posted this awhile ago, but was having some trouble with email and my ISP--no
longer using their webmail OR their provided address, back to mutt and my own
mail server and loving it.
Anyway, I've installed CUPS to get the proper driver for my Epson Stylus C60,
and it works great from the command line or printing a test page from the web
administration page. Documents print fine from ghostview as well. However,
printing from Netscape or from other apps gives the error in the subject line.
My /tmp directory has permissions of 777--is this right? I'm running Sid with
the 2.4.17 kernel.
I did try, as one person suggested, the lp -S option; that gives the message
"lp: Expected character set after -S option!" Any ideas about what to put after
that?
The only other thing I can think of is in the kernel configuration there's an
option to make user space programs access the printer directly--do I need this?
TIA, Aidan
