Hello... Debian 2.2r5 i386 on a DELL GX400. I can't seem to get the /dev/lp0 port to work at all. I've re-compiled the kernel with parallel port drivers loaded as modules, and loaded the modules. Redirecting to /dev/lp0 (i.e. date > /dev/lp0) just gives:
/dev/lp0: No such device In dmesg, I see : parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778) [SPP,ECP,ECPEPP,ECPPS2] parport0: detected irq 7; use procfs to enable interrupt-driven operation. Any ideas? Thanks in advance... -- <>< ><> <>< ><> <>< ><> <>< ><> <>< ><> <>< Ken Kleiner System Manager Computer Science Department Umass Lowell voice : 978 934 3645 fax : 978 934 3551 cell : 603 930 5582 (emergencies only, please) [EMAIL PROTECTED]
