Hello...

  Debian 2.2r5 i386 on a DELL GX400. I can't seem to get the /dev/lp0
port to work at all. I've re-compiled the kernel with parallel port
drivers loaded as modules, and loaded the modules. Redirecting to
/dev/lp0 (i.e. date > /dev/lp0) just gives:

/dev/lp0: No such device

In dmesg, I see :

parport0: PC-style at 0x378 (0x778) [SPP,ECP,ECPEPP,ECPPS2]
parport0: detected irq 7; use procfs to enable interrupt-driven operation.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance...
