Hi I recently aquired a new motherboard with onboard ALC650 sound. I installed the alsa-drivers from Realteks website according to there howto. I got sound working almost immediately. XMMS plays fine with the ALSA output plugin. The problem is movies. I have tried Mplayer, xine, aviplay etc. Nothing worked. I prefer mplayer and have downloaded source and compiled it. If I play a movie with sound disabled (mplayer -ao null XXX.XXX) it works perfectly. As soon as I leave mplayer to select the output device it basicly freezes. If I select alsa9 for sound, it basicly freezes. I have the same symptoms from the other players. Can anyone help me with this, PRETTY PLEASE. I couldn't find anything on google.
