I downloaded the netinstall version of the cd and tried to install from a CD-R made from it Unfortunately a) My reiserfs partition is not recognised b) My ext3 partitions fail to mount as ext2 because they need the replay log run on them as a result of the completely failed system I do not think the underlying problem in this thread is that I have out of date packages trying to live with an updated libc6. Its more like a ldconfig that needs to be run and isn't AGAIN I REPEAT - HOW SHOULD LIBC6 be updated so the rest of the programs do not start to segfault. In the end I have gone back to my backup (pre update) to get the server working - -- Alan - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.chandlerfamily.org.uk -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE8Qas21mf3M5ZDr2kRAj9xAJwKZWoAddtOaAsf9PGx/CRW6H9BiQCfZXr/ GTqolN6mE4BVyNwIxIm0AOw= =4lch -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
