sorry to respond to my own post, but i forgot something. when procmail sinks the message i'm getting, it seems to generate this blank, no-header, zero-size, from-me (by the 'F' flag in mutt), subjectless email, dated Jan 01. no idea where this comes from but it seems to be related.
