Hello, I am running Debian UNSTABLE inside a local network that uses windows 2000 (workstation) as a server with winroute controlling the proxy and a DirecPC one way satt dish USB for access outside. My debian is 3.0 with all current "unstable" updates. My "ONLY" problem is with "dselect" stalling!. I can be doing just an update of the list and it will stall, I can be downloading 40MB and never stall, then I also can be pulling in 300kb and stall 10 times during this. At first I thought it was just with the the non-us.debian site, That showed not to be. now that a few weeks have passed I have noticed there is nothing that is relevant about the time or server, or what service I have running or not. I can even ping the server in another terminal at the same time I am stalled in dselect. I can be in KDE downloading all day long and never stall. I can pull mail, news and never stall.
I also have tried apt-spy with the same results. I am stuck here. This system also has a RedHat 7.2 partition on it and the no problems there, I how ever do remember RedHat 7.0 had stall issues when I first installed it. I then switched to 7.1 and they went away. If anyone can help with this I will be for every greatfull! Topp Dogg
