You do have to hunt for them... but they're out there.  Dealers here have
'em, but I opted for the G550 anyway. :)

Well, it doesn't seem to be supported in the currently packaged mga driver
in Woody.  The additions to the current open-source driver seem to be
trivial so I imagine they'll be included at some point.  Look for something
like the following in your log file:

(II) MGA: driver for Matrox chipsets: mga2064w, mga1064sg, mga2164w,
        mga2164w AGP, mgag100, mgag100 PCI, mgag200, mgag200 PCI, mgag400,
        mgag550
(II) Primary Device is: PCI 01:00:0
(--) Chipset mgag550 found
(--) Chipset mgag550 found

If you don't see the 'mgag550' as a supported chipset, then you need to get
the updated driver.  Matrox has a binary download of it, or if you're up to
it, you can modify the X source and build it yourself.

One you get it working, you'll love it.  I run 1280x960x16bit dual-head and
the display quality is wonderful. :)
