Sometimes it is good to do a reinstall when you are learning how the system works. Sometimes you can tweak (break) a config somewhere and not know or remember or know how to track it down. Seeing the brand-new-freshly-installed configs can help, once you've been digging into them for a while anyways. I know that I reinstalled many times when I was starting out. The main suggestion I have is to print out the configs you have now that work, or sort-of work so that you can compare it to the fresh configs when you re-install. -D -- All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the Lord.
