Vipul's Razor (apt-get install razor), a nifty distributed spam filter, is easy to set up, and so far has been working fine for me. If a spam makes it through, reporting can be done with a single keystroke, and you have an incentive to make the report because that insures that others who use the razor won't have to see that spam.
This package was mentioned in Debian Weekly News; I'm just sharing the fact that it was easy for a non-technical user to set up and operate. It took about 20 minutes total to figure out how to use it and to integrate it into procmail and mutt. If enough people were to use this tool, it looks like it could become extraordinarily effective. Perhaps there's a catch, but I hope not. -- Lance Simmons
