ah... I see what you're saying and, yes, gtcd is probably the best cd player out there, interface-wise (my cd player of choice until I get around to writing my own ;-) I suddenly remember my Mandrake 6.0 days when I used to use kmp3... http://lug.mfh-iserlohn.de/kmp3/ The interface is very standard kde and pretty much looks like kscd (if you've ever used that cd player). There're more kde media progs at: http://www.kde.com/Applications/Multimedia/Audio/MP3/index.php?sid=a7a2f2e222658e2944b60b1fe9b3340c but I don't know much about kde apps so you'll have to look yourself :-) Gnome also has a mp3 player called Gnomp3 but the web page has been "locked" and it's development status is listed on gnome.org as "N" so it looks like you're out of luck when it comes to a native gtk mp3 player... you can also see for yourself: http://www.gnome.org/applist/listrecent.php3?category_query=Sound%20Tools HTH
