I don't know about the errors, but, if your fonts are all on your
computer, you shouldn't need xfs.
Also, since you've installed woody, try xserver-free86_4.1.0.
If it isn't already installed,
# apt-get install xserver-xfree86
Configure your XF86Config-4 by:
# dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
or
# XFree86 -configure
