I have a parallel port printer that used to work just fine... however, I recently reinstalled after a drive failure, and now it's not working. I have parallel port support in the kernel. At boot-time, I get the messages:
parport0: PC-style at 0x378 [PCSPP,TRISTATE] parport0: cpp_daisy: aa5500ff(98) parport0: assign_addrs: aa5500ff(98) parport0: Printer, Canon BJC-1000 However, printing through lpr doesn't work, and "cat file > /dev/lp0" gives me bash: /dev/lp0: No such device Same thing with lp[12] and par[0..2]. My printer used to be /dev/lp0... now it doesn't seem to exist at all. Any suggestions? Thanks, Nathan
