I've a bt848 based video card. I'd like to capture video and serve it locally on our office LAN to 4-5 users, some running Linux, some running Windows.
The application that seems to come closest to what I'm looking for is vic, which is really meant for videoconferencing. I was hoping to broadcast in streaming mpeg or something equally common and well-optimized on the client end. Is mpeg streaming realistic? Any recommendations on where to find information or software?
