My policy on storage is *strictly* "fool me once".  Once storage has
demonstrated itself to be unstable, it's remaindered.  If your vendor
won't accept this policy, switch, and state explicitly the reason for
doing so.

Your data, time, and recovery hassles aren't worth the $100 cost of 50GB
of storage.
