I have been attempting to move from redhat to debian, but I am running
into problems. First, since I have a A7V133 motherboard with a promise
ata100 controller, my hard drive isn't detected. That's solved by passing
the kernal parameter "ide2=0x9400, 0x9002, ide3=0x8800, 0x8402". Now
something goes wrong with the network configuration during installation.
So I choose the 3c59x drivers for my 3c905C-TX, it apparently is the right
driver. Then when I go to configure I select the option to use DHCP or
that other thing which I can't remember. I get an error back saying
something, and it doesn't work, and oddly there is this black background
flush against the left with the text

ot alloc
eth0: Ca

I'm clueless. What should I do. If I try to manually configure the
settings, I get a message that it's not activated but that's ok if I'm not
installing anything from the network. Of course when I try to reboot I
get a message saying the base system is not configured correctly.
