I just got the following warning: jojda:~>ping azar PING azar (192.168.1.3) from 192.168.1.1 : 56(84) bytes of data. WARNING: kernel is not very fresh, upgrade is recommended. >From 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=3 Destination Host Unreachable
while I only compiled kernel few days ago, it couldn't go bad in such a short time, now could it? jojda:~>uname -a Linux jojda 2.4.10 #1 Tue Oct 9 00:14:15 PDT 2001 i686 unknown there are no problems when host responds (and azar in above example is turned off so it was expected to be unresponsive) this is on debian unstable, jut ran update && dist-upgrade btw I couldn't interrupt it using ctrl-c or ctrl-\ (other programs in the same xterm are interruptible using those keys so it's not xterm settings) any ideas? TIA erik
