You can't just load the tulip module and expect it to work if
that's not the correct module or just because it "loads". You
have to load the right module. Are you indeed sure that
ne2k-pci is the right one?
Which module were you using when you used kernel 2.2.18? Was
that the ne2k-pci? If yes, then it should work with the new
kernel also, provided that you update your modutils (you'll
have to use new modutils to use a kernel from the 2.4 series).
