I'm having difficulties persuading Direct Rendering to work on my Woody machine (Matrox G450 graphics card, XFree86 4.1.0.1) - all the relevant packages appear to be there, kernel modules (kernel 2.4.9) and XF86Config-4 appears fine (got someone else with a working Matrox G400 to compare it with theirs).
The one thing I've been able to find is this, from http://www.xfree86.org/4.1.0/DRI10.html#35 The DRI 3D driver for the G200/G400 should be in /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/mga_dri.so. This will be automatically loaded by libGL.so. mga_dri.so doesn't exist on my system, nor does the dri directory within X modules. Is this normal for a Debian system? If not, what's the best way to go about fixing this? -- Geoff Beaumont [EMAIL PROTECTED]
