I also had this problem. When I built the nvidia kernel package, it installed in a /lib/modules/2.4.9, instead of the /lib/modules/2.4.9-k6 directory that my system used. I set up a link in 2.4.9-k6 to the built file and it worked fine. Since it was a kernel module, I did have to reboot the system, too, before the nvidia kernel driver loaded. Logan Bear
