Yes, if you really want to. It would take you longer to recompile the packages than to wait for the un-optimized executables. The performance gain is not terribly significant most of the time, and the compatibility issues (for example, the i486 next to me wouldn't be able to run it) are not worth it (for the project as a whole, that is). -D
