Sorry. Turns out "export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/X11R6/lib/" helped. Apart from that, I've found a version with some more bug fixes, and source-only, which I compiled, and seems to not suffer from this problem. So thanks for all the help, it's now solved.
