Can you log in as guest at the console? Does "guest" have a home directory? Is your X configured properly (so an ~/.xsession isn't required)? Mostly sounds like WDM gets an error trying to start a session for the user. So, what does /usr/bin/x-window-manager point to? -- Eric G. Miller <egm2@jps.net>
