I'm having problems with nut right now. The command "upsc" which I guess is supposed to give you some command line monitoring functionality isn't working. In addition, I can't find anything describing this command. There is no man page for it, and upsc doesn't have any help or usage functions with in it that I can gleam info. from either. Maybe somebody can send there working config files so that I can try them. I'm running an APC Smart-UPS 700. > > > > I haven't received any reply from the apcupsd debian developer. > > Does anyone know if he still works on this package? > > I also haven't found anyone using Debian that has this package working. > > Was it ever tested to work with Debian? > > > > I'll try nut and see what happens. > > APCUPSD gave me the same problem - it failed to shutdown the box though > the log had an entry saying that it was being shut down. > > So I tried nut but got nowhere with that either. However, the docs in the nut-doc package has ups.conf all over. I get the impression that these packages (nut, apcd, apcupsd) were never actually tested with a ups in Debian by the package maintaner?? So far, I have gone the farthest with apcupsd in that it actually contacted my UPS and put an entry in the syslog, however never did the shutdown. I guess I'll try apcd next...any other UPS shutdown packages out there? > > We really need a debian-UPS list for while so that we can co-ordinate > effort on this matter. > You have agreement on that! > > Cheers, > Lindsay > --- > > =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= > Lindsay Allen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Perth, Western Australia > voice +61 8 9316 2486, 0403 272 564 32.0125S 115.8445E Debian Linux > =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Thanks, ---Dean.
