I don't have a definitive answer, but a few tips: Debian doesn't drive modems. Linux does. If it works in Linux, it works in Debian. We probably won't be able to tell you if it works in Linux without more information. If you don't know the manufacturer, try to get *something* from it: maybe take a look at the modem itself and see if there are any stickers on it or maybe a brand name printed on one of the chips. Try to find something identifying the chipset, and then go to goole and search for it.
