i'm upgrading to woody, and for various reasons, i'm not able to use apt-get.
i am, however, able to download packages and install them using dpkg.
so far i've installed xdm and xserver-ggi
however i get the following message when i run 'startx'

" /usr/X11/R6/lib/X11/xini/xserverrc: /usr/bin/X11/X: no such file or
directory "

this is because i don't have some package or another that i need, right?
if so, is there a list of the packages i need just to install the basic x
setup? i'm not bothering with any window managers or IDE's for now.
of course, if it SHOULD be working after dpkging xdm and xserver-ggi,
what's going on and what do i need to do to fix it?
hopefully, this is a basic enough question that i should get some responses
for a change... thanks for your help
