John, For a multitasking, multithreaded OS like Linux I would probably go with the dual P-III. For example, I run Windows 2000 Pro. in the office on my dual 500MHz P-III but because of the extra threads It's actually faster than my single P-III 866 when running a lot of applications.
Check out http://www.2cpu.com . They have a lot of good information. In fact, they first article on the page is exactly what you are asking. :) /*Raj*/ > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf > Of John Foster > Sent: Thursday, August 16, 2001 11:56 AM > To: Debian-User List > Subject: Need Motherboard input for evaluation with Debian Woody > > > Anyone who has a few minuts to blow.
